The Google Drive Cookbook

Headache: finding recipes when you need them

Want a central storage location for your recipes that is easily accessible through all your devices?  I sure did and I put my google drive and docs to task for the job. I put recipes I found in magazines, newspaper articles, family recipes and even scanned recipe cards into a myriad of subfolders. It goes something like this.

Main folder = Recipes >

  • Main Dishes
    • Meat
    • Vegetarian
  • Desserts
    • Fruitcentric
    • Cakes
    • Pies
  • Salads
    • With Meat
    • Veggie only
    • Fruit
  • Sides
    • Veggies
    • Grains
  • Breakfast
    • Savory
    • Sweet

The other thing I've been doing is putting brackets around titles of recipes that I haven't made before so I have a clear indication if a recipe is a new one to try or a tried and true one. My titles look like this when I haven't made it yet [Nectarine Salad] and like this when I have Spinach Salad. It's just a small visual clue to remind me to try some of the recipes I've been collecting.
